I don’t want softener to go in my wash. Can this be turned off?

Yes, but only by request when the laundromat attendant is on duty.

This is from Monday to Friday from 9am to 3.30pm and Saturdays from 9am to 12.30pm.

An attendant is required because we need to turn the pump off behind the machine and also allow time for the cycle to complete so we can then turn it back on for the next customer.
